Sugar Sheet Paper
Awesome printer paper that’s made from agricultural waste product from sugar cane. Safe for laser and inkjet printers and is indistinguishable from regular printer paper. EXTREMELY low CO2 footprint!
Mohawk Paper
Mohawk is on the cutting-edge of sustainability and paper. They have several stock lines that carry many eco-friendly certifications and some are even made from hemp, reclaimed straw, and recycled jeans! Great for packaging.
Neenah Paper
Neenah has some amazing eco-friendly paper stocks such as their Sundance and Cotton lines. Many of their papers are made with renewable energy. Also great for packaging.
Re-Nourish
Some information dedicated to sustainable design practices and case studies associated with sustainable design projects! It’s a good starting place for sustainable design practices and understanding green design techniques.
A Better Source
A directory of eco-friendly printing materials. Not all of these materials mentioned have lifecycle analysis or studies done for their CO2 impact or biodegradability. But definitely an interesting place to explore.
Independent Journalism Recommendations
The Intercept
One of the best independent journalist organizations around; always providing extremely detailed, high-quality analysis of current events. Also employs my favourite thinker, Naomi Klein.
Citations Needed Podcast
My favourite podcast: a media criticism podcast focused on power and a comprehensive analysis of news, reporters specifically taking care to examine historical similarities and uncovering coded language. Also very funny.
The Narwhal
Extremely high-quality environmental journalism that focuses on an intersectional approach to climate justice, often focusing on Indigenous perspectives.
Intercepted Podcast
The Intercept’s podcast, covering current events and focusing on power and systems approaches to world events.
Naked Capitalism
Progressive exposes on current events. Naked Capitalism has a particular focus on economics and finances, as well as Silicon Valley exposes, but also discusses politics and environmentalism.
Green Dreamer Podcast
A podcast dedicated to intersectional environmentalism. Kamea Chayne interviews thinkers and environmentalists from across the globe to present both the reality of Climate Crisis but also to provide positive perspectives on the important work being done in the world.
